For moments when only something bespoke will do, we offer three distinct avenues to bring your vision to life. From small tweaks (Level 1) to full on custom (Level 3), we can provide the options and guidance to achieve the best possible result.

level 1 Custom

Level 1 is easily available on every product page. Simply select the custom option from the product size drop-down menu and enter your desired dimensions in the estimate request.

Typically, custom-sized products come with an additional 5 - 15% cost. Approval drawings are provided prior to fabrication to show exactly how the various dimensions have scaled based on your size request.

level 2 Custom

Mix & Match

Expand upon our existing designs to create entirely new product types. Transform the Pavilion Coffee Table into a dining table or desk, pair the base of the Seton table with the Sayers' top, or add rounded corners and a bullnose to the edges of a Hawkins Table. Create something unique out of any pre-existing parts and details within our collection.

Any style or detail in our product line can be inspiration for this kind of customization. Feel free to create within this tool kit. We will provide feedback along the way regarding the viability of what you are imagining.
Typically there is an additional 15 - 25% cost for a product customized at this level.
Customizations must be vetted by our design/engineering team to make sure that the proposed changes don’t result in stability or safety issues. In most cases we can find solutions to achieve your original design intent. In this process, we can accommodate up to three design iterations prior to approval to make sure that the result is exactly what you are looking for.
Final approval drawings are provided prior to fabrication.

Bespoke designs

Let your creativity take control. Begin by understanding your intention behind creating a custom piece — whether you need furniture designed for a specific function, to fit a design genre, or to add character to a space. Inspiration images, which are a common starting point, can be helpful, but we will not copy designs. Design integrity is important to us, partly due to knowing the cost of original designs and having them copied by others, but primarily because we believe that together, we can do better! Let's get started.

We predominantly work in wood, however in the realm of fully custom designs, we can work in any material from metal fabrication to upholstery. We can also provide insight along the way with regards to how different materials and processes effect the cost of the end product.
Bespoke custom pieces varies widely in terms of pricing depending on the complexity of design and materials used. Cost can also be driven by the jigs and machine fixturing that needs to be created prior to beginning a production. This can easily be 2-3 times the amount of labour time that goes into the actual product itself. Throughout the design process we usually make suggestions for how to minimize this production setup cost.
First we look to establish a clear picture of the vision, budget and timeline. Sometimes this will include rough preliminary sketches provided by us or the client to make sure we are all on the same page. The full design process begins after a 50% deposit which involves consultations on material and construction methods, 3D model creation to confirm design direction and detailed dimensional drawings for revision (up to 3) and approval.
While the creativity is limitless there are some practical limitations to our custom capabilities. We specialize in freestanding furniture and do not offer onsite installation services. We are more than happy to collaborate with contractors on site, to ensure your custom piece fits seamlessly into your space. This might involve manufacturing custom stock components that are finish-matched to our furniture to bring perfect cohesion to a space, but the installation must be handled by a qualified contractor. Our machinery and equipment is tailored for a production line environment and cannot be moved making it much more cost effective for you to use a millworker who is set up for onsite work.
